1. Who we are
This website, smileline.pk, belongs to Smile Line Dental Practice, Plot 3-F, Street 67, F-10/3, Islamabad 44000, Pakistan (“we”, “us”). We decide what information the website collects and what it is used for, so we are responsible for it.
The website was built, and is looked after, by Nixzor on our behalf. Nixzor works under our instructions and does not use visitors’ information for its own purposes.
2. The short version
- This website has no database and no inbox. It does not store your name, phone number or anything you type.
- The appointment form writes a WhatsApp message on your own phone or computer and opens WhatsApp. Nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp yourself.
- We may use Google Analytics to count visits and to count how many people tap to call us, message us on WhatsApp or use the form. It never receives the details you type into the form.
- If we advertise with Google Ads, we count how many people who clicked an advert then contacted us.
- The map on the contact section is provided by Google.
3. Information you give us
The appointment form
The form asks for your name, your phone number, the treatment you are interested in and, if you like, a preferred day. When you press “Send on WhatsApp”, your browser puts these into a message and opens WhatsApp with it already written. The website itself does not keep or send any of it. You can read and change the message in WhatsApp before sending it, or not send it at all.
If you send the message, it reaches the practice’s WhatsApp number, 0335 6611550, and from then on it is an ordinary WhatsApp conversation with us (see section 4).
Calling or messaging us directly
If you phone us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your phone number and whatever you tell us, as with any call or message. We use it to reply to you, arrange your appointment and, if you become a patient, as part of your care.
Health information
Telling us which treatment you are interested in is information about your health. Please do not send medical history, X-rays or photographs through WhatsApp unless we ask for them. We will explain how to share them safely when they are needed.
4. Other organisations that receive information
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp (part of Meta) | The messages you choose to send us, and your phone number, under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy | So you can contact us and we can reply |
| Google Analytics | Only while we have it switched on: the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, your approximate location (worked out from your internet address), how you arrived at the site, and whether you tapped to call, message, get directions or used the form | To count visits and enquiries so we can see what works (section 5) |
| Google Ads | Only if we advertise with Google: whether someone who clicked one of our adverts then contacted us | To measure whether our adverts are worth paying for |
| Google Maps | Loading the map sends Google your internet address and browser details, and Google may set its own cookies | To show you where we are |
| Cloudflare | Every visit to the site passes through Cloudflare, which hosts it. Like any web host it processes your internet address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect the site from attack. | To run the website |
| Instagram and Facebook | Nothing, unless you click a link to our pages there; then their own policies apply | — |
We do not sell your information, and we do not give it to anyone else for their marketing.
Some of these companies are based outside Pakistan, so information they receive may be processed in other countries under their own safeguards.
5. Why we measure, and what we do not do
When we pay for advertising, we want to know whether it brings patients to us or just clicks. So, with Google Analytics switched on, we count enquiries — calls, WhatsApp messages and form uses — and which pages they came from. The numbers we look at are totals, such as “how many people tapped to call this month”. We cannot see who you are from them.
We do not:
- send your name, phone number or anything you type in the form to Google or anyone else;
- follow you around the internet with adverts based on the treatment pages you read;
- let Google use this site to put you in advertising groups based on your health.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser.
This site sets no cookies of its own. It keeps one small note in your browser (called “session storage”) so the opening animation plays only once per visit. It never leaves your device and disappears when you close the tab.
Google sets cookies when Google Analytics runs, and when you arrive from one of our Google adverts, to tell one visit from another and to link an advert click to an enquiry. The embedded map may set Google cookies too.
How to say no:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works fully without them.
- Install Google’s opt-out add-on for Analytics: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Manage the adverts Google shows you: https://adssettings.google.com
- Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/
7. How long information is kept
- This website: nothing to keep. It stores nothing.
- Google Analytics: Google keeps detailed visit data for a limited time set in our Analytics account, after which only totals remain.
- WhatsApp conversations and call logs: kept on the practice’s phone for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry or, if you become a patient, for your care. You can ask us to delete them (section 8).
- Patient records: if you become a patient, your clinical records are kept as part of your care, under the confidentiality every dentist owes their patients. This policy is about the website; ask us how we handle clinical records.
8. What you can ask us to do
Pakistan does not yet have a general data protection law. We still think you should be able to:
- ask what information we hold about you from the website, WhatsApp or phone enquiries;
- ask us to correct it;
- ask us to delete your enquiry messages, where we do not need them for your treatment or by law;
- ask us to stop contacting you.
Contact us as in section 10, and we will reply as soon as we can. We may need to check that you are who you say you are before sharing anything.
Google, WhatsApp and Cloudflare hold what they receive under their own policies; you can also contact them directly.
If a data protection law comes into force in Pakistan, we will update this policy to reflect the rights it gives you.
9. Children
This website is for adults. We treat children, but a child’s appointment should be made by a parent or guardian, and we ask children not to send us their details through the site or WhatsApp themselves.
10. Contact us about your privacy
- Phone: 051 8445616 or 0335 6611550
- WhatsApp: 0335 6611550
- Post or in person: Smile Line Dental Practice, Plot 3-F, Street 67, F-10/3, Islamabad 44000
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the website changes what it collects — for example when our adverts start, or if we add a booking system. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects information we already hold about you, we will tell you before it applies.
