A makeover is a plan, not a procedure
A smile makeover is rarely one treatment. It is usually a sequence — whitening first so the shade is settled before anything permanent is matched to it, then the restorative work, with the gum line corrected where it is the gums rather than the teeth that are out of proportion.
Sequencing it in the right order is most of the skill. Veneers matched to unwhitened teeth cannot be lightened later, which is the single most common and most expensive mistake in cosmetic dentistry.
Aesthetics that still have to work
Every cosmetic case sits on top of a functioning bite, and the bite is what decides whether the work is still intact in ten years. Where teeth are worn, the reason for the wear gets addressed rather than covered up.
That is also why cosmetic cases here are often planned alongside orthodontics: moving a tooth into the right position is frequently better dentistry than grinding it down and putting porcelain over it.
